Week 11 started with two NFC playoff contenders facing off on Thursday Night Football and that is also how the week will wrap up, as the Los Angeles Rams take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Looking at the Rams vs. Buccaneers betting odds, the Buccaneers are 4.5-point home favorites on the point spread and a decent price to lay on the moneyline. In this Monday Night Football betting preview, we’ll break down the Rams vs. Buccaneers matchup from an NFL betting perspective and provide a few free picks for the game.

Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-4.5)

Tampa Bay, FL

Last week, both teams bounced back from embarrassing losses the week before, as the Rams upset the division-leading Seattle Seahawks and the Buccaneers doubled up on the Carolina Panthers 46-23. The Rams and Buccaneers present two of the most exciting offenses in the league when they are clicking, so we could be seeing some big points tonight. Let’s break it down.

Jet Lag for the Rams

Whoever created the Rams travel schedule this year clearly has a vendetta out against the team. Tonight’s game will mark the fifth time in six road games that the Rams will have to travel cross country, having already played the Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, Washington Football Team, Miami Dolphins, and now the Buccaneers. The Rams dropped their last game in Florida, 28-17 to the Dolphins. and looked terrible in the process. It’s possible that the long flights are taking a toll on the Rams and adding this long trip to their schedule isn’t going to do them any favors.

Fortunately for LA, the only two road games they have left are against divisional rivals, Arizona and Seattle, so they will be cutting down on their frequent flyer miles after tonight’s contest.

Bucs Nearing Full Strength in Week 11

The Buccaneers have been rotating injuries on both sides of the ball, rarely seeming to get the full squad of players on the field at once. Receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin have both missed games due to lagging injuries, and Antonio Brown is still getting his feel for things in this Tampa Bay offense. Tonight, we might see the full squad together for the first time, as the only offensive injuries for the team are rarely used TE Tanner Hudson and guard Ali Marpet.

On the other side though, defensive stars Jason Pierre-Paul and Ndamukong Suh, are both questionable to suit up tonight. Either player would be a big loss, as both contribute to the team’s elite run-stopping and pass rush.

Point Spread Pick: Buccaneers (-4.5)

This point spread is a tough one to read because both of these teams have been unpredictable so far this season. The Rams have looked great in their wins, but Seattle was really the only impressive win and the rest have come against the NFC East and a struggling Chicago Bears team.

For the Buccaneers, they looked awful in their blowout loss against the New Orleans Saints, but they looked like world-beaters when they dominated the Green Bay Packers in a previous primetime game.

We are going to bank on the team that looked more impressive on a more consistent basis and that has been Tampa Bay. The offense should be clicking on all cylinders tonight and should be able to score enough to get the cover. Aaron Donald rushing an immobile Tom Brady all night is the main thing that would give us pause in this pick.

Mike Evans Player Prop: Under 4.5 catches

After a mid-season funk where Mike Evans logged just 1 and 2 receptions in back-to-back games, Evans is starting to emerge again, logging one of his best games last week, with 6 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.

However, Evans is likely to draw shadow coverage from Jalen Ramsey, and Evans has usually struggled when he is shadowed by an elite corner. If that is the case, Brady is likely to look away from Evans throughout the night, content with peppering targets to Godwin and Brown. Look for the under here.

Antonio Brown Player Prop: over 4.5 catches

Antonio Brown looks like he has settled right into this Tampa Bay offense, as he more than doubled his stats in his second game in a Buccaneers uniform. After going 3 for 31 on 5 targets in his first game, Brown logged 7 for 69 and also got a running play. There’s no denying the connection he has with Brady, and again, if we assume that Ramsey will be taking out either Evans or Godwin, that should give Brown plenty of opportunities in the slot. Take the over on this player prop.
