Gridiron Gamble Podcast: Week 3 NFL Recap
Week 3 of the NFL is in the books, and the Gridiron Gamble Football Betting Podcast is here to recap the NFL bets that were won, lost, and even tied. The week was capped off by a big clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football, but there was plenty to talk about from Sunday. Donnie Peters, Mo Nuwwarah, and Rich Ryan recap the group’s Week 3 picks and go over what happened in regards to betting on the NFL.
The hosts are calling this episode “We Hate the Eagles” because the Philadelphia Eagles did not come through for them in what was a horrible showing for head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Carson Wentz. To make matters worse for the Eagles, DeSean Jackson left the game with a hamstring injury and didn’t return and Dallas Goedert fractured his ankle.
Here are the timestamps for this episode of the Gridiron Gamble podcast.
[1:05] Rich kicks off the show with a recap of how everyone did. Leading the way was Brett Collson with a 4-1 record in his top five.
[3:59] Getting to the group’s Circa Sports Million, first up if the Chicago Bears against the Atlanta Falcons. The Bears were road underdogs but won outright in exciting, come-from-behind fashion thanks to Nick Foles coming in to clean up after Mitchell Trubisky.
[12:30] Mo takes the conversation on a little bit of a tangent, discussing what worries him about the New Orleans Saints with Drew Brees at quarterback.
[13:57] The team’s second win from the early round of games involved the New England Patriots dominating the Las Vegas Raiders, even though Cam Newton didn’t play too well. The Patriots benefitted from a huge game by Rex Burkhead and shut down Darren Waller.
[21:24] This next pick might’ve been a little too sharp for their own good, but the hosts had the New York Giants against the San Francisco 49ers on their Circa Sports Million card. Rich blames everyone else.
[26:47] Mo is a bit upset because before the season he felt the Giants could be the worst team in the league and was able to get a bet down on +1400 for them to have the worst record in the NFL this season. What he’s upset about is his incredibly awful Rich’s New York Jets look.
[30:19] Next up is the Cincinnati Bengals against the Philadelphia Eagles, which prompted the title of this episode. The group had the Eagles and they played absolutely horrendous against the Bengals.
[38:30] Another loss for the hosts, it’s time to discuss the Houston Texans losing and failing to cover as underdogs to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
[46:04] Moving to the late games of Sunday, first up to talk about is the Detroit Lions against the Arizona Cardinals. The team had the Lions as 5.5-point underdogs on the Circa Sports Million point spread, and Detroit won outright.
[52:30] Another win for the group was the Carolina Panthers. Like the Lions, the Panthers were sizable underdogs but won outright, beating the Los Angeles Chargers.
[59:18] They needed to talk about it, but they didn’t really want to, and that’s the Denver Broncos getting beaten bad by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
[1:08:00] As they usually do, the hosts wrapped up the recap show with an open-floor discussion on things they saw in Week 3 and wanted to hit on.
