Best NBA Betting Picks and Player Props for Wednesday, March 11

After splitting our plays from Tuesday, we’re back with another round of NBA betting picks for Wednesday, March 11. This time, we’ve got three picks that we like. One is a player prop, while the other two are picks against the point spread. Check them out in the latest edition of SharpSide’s NBA betting picks article.

Oklahoma City Thunder (-2)

We are late enough in the season when I have my opinions on some teams that differ when compared to the oddsmakers. The Utah Jazz typically are a team that is looked at as a strong, dominant squad in the Western Conference. I’m not buying them this season because I think they just only beat up on bad teams.

The Jazz are 20-7 in non-conference games this season but the team’s against-the-spread numbers are interesting. They are 16-10-1 against the spread versus out-of-conference opponents, but then the team is 14-22-1 in the conference. Not only that, but the Jazz have been bad lately. Since the NBA All-Star break, the Jazz are 2-8 against the spread.

On the other hand, you have an Oklahoma City Thunder team that should have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander back on Wednesday night and are the best team in the league at covering against the spread at 62.5%. I’m just not buying this Utah team and at only Thunder (-2), I’ll be taking the Thunder.

New Orleans Pelicans (-1.5)

I’m taking a road favorite in this game with the New Orleans Pelicans laying 1.5 points against the Sacramento Kings.

The Kings have been playing some great basketball as of late, but I don’t think this Kings lineup matches up very well against the Pelicans. We know the Kings can struggle inside and I don’t know who on earth is going to stop Zion Williamson down low. Then we have Jrue Holiday, who I believe can do enough to slow down De’Aaron Fox late in the game.

This is a big game for both teams as they fight for playoff spots and I expect the talented Pelicans players to rise to the top tonight. I just don’t think this is a great matchup for the Kings and the eye test tells me that I’m going to stick with the Pelicans at -1.5 on the point spread.

Zion Williamson, SF, New Orleans Pelicans

– Over 23.5 Points (-115)

My only player prop bet for Wednesday will be a Zion Williamson player prop. I think this is a good spot for Williamson’s over on 23.5 points. I took him in his last game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and it hit, so I’m going back to the well against a soft interior team.

The Kings are BBQ chicken down low and if you watch Williamson play, when he sees an opportunity, he will attack. I also looked at Williamson’s minutes and he has played over 30 minutes in 11 games this season. In seven of those games, Williamson has gone over 23.5 points and somehow we are only getting this at -115. I think this line should be juiced at -140, so at this line we have plenty of value.

I expect a big game from Williamson in a must-win game against another team fighting for playoffs. I also think it’s smart to bet Williamson overs during the nationally televised games because with TV timeouts he gets longer rest, and we know how Alvin Gentry has been with monitoring Williamson.

All that being said, I love the over on 23.5 points tonight for Zion Williamson.
