The NBA is giving us 10 games on Wednesday, which means we have another hefty offering to pick from. Of value, we found two NBA player props and two bets on the point spread.

Steven Adams, C, Oklahoma City Thunder

– Over 9.5 Rebounds (-143)

The first NBA bet we like for Wednesday, January 15, is a player prop for Steven Adams.

Adams has been great lately while the Oklahoma City Thunder have gone through some injuries. On Wednesday, the Thunder get a matchup against a Toronto Raptors team that is slowly getting healthier. I’m going to jump on the over on 8.5 rebounds for Adams because I think this line is just too low. I think this could be listed at 9.5 rebounds. Although we are paying for the lower line at 8.5 with a juice of -143, I think this is tough to pass up.

Adams has more than 8.5 rebounds in six of his last eight games. This matchup looks tough on paper because Toronto is ranked in 11th in rebounds this season but according to our RotoGrinders Defense vs. Matchup Tool, Adams will see a 5% bump in rebounds compared to the average matchup.

This is a spot where I want to take a line that just seems too low and that’s why I’m on the over on 8.5 rebounds for Adams.

Al Horford, C, Philadelphia 76ers

– Over 13.5 Points (-110)

The second NBA bet we like for Wednesday is another player prop, only this time we’re looking at Al Horford.

I love targeting the Brooklyn Nets with opposing bigs and Horford is just that on Wednesday. That’s one reason why I’m taking the over on 13.5 points for Horford.

This is a great spot to attack the Nets with Horford. Joel Embiid has been out for three games so far and Horford has dominated the minutes at center for this 76ers team in his absence. Horford has scored over 13.5 points in two of the three games and I expect him to make it three of four on Wednesday night.

This is a pace-up game against a Nets team that struggles against opposing big men. This is also the second night of a back-to-back, so the Nets could have some more tired legs. It’s also nice to bet on players that don’t play on teams that try and play 11 guys. Horford typically sees minutes into the mid 30s and he should go over 13.5 points in this matchup.

Denver Nuggets (-11)

The third bet we like is a point spread bet, and we’re backing the Denver Nuggets (-11).

The Nuggets typically have one of the best home courts in the league and are currently 16-5 this season. On Wednesday, they get to take on a Charlotte Hornets team that is overachieving this season. I think a lot of people didn’t expect this out of the Hornets and they have hung around with some decent teams. The problem with the Hornets is that they are poor defensively, ranked third worst in the league.

This is a Charlotte team that should get beat up by one of the better home teams in the league. The Nuggets are also playing better basketball and the Hornets have been struggling a ton on the road. I expect the Nuggets to handle this Charlotte team easy and that’s why I’m taking the Nuggets at -11 on the point spread.

Houston Rockets (-8.5)

Finally, we’re backing the Houston Rockets (-8.5) on the point spread.

The Rockets get to take on one of my favorite teams to target in the league, the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers barely beat a terrible Hornets team the other day because they needed Anthony Tolliver, of all people, to close the game and get a double-double. That just shows how bad Hassan Whiteside is and how he doesn’t help this Portland team win basketball games.

On the other hand, the Rockets just took a bad loss to a Memphis Grizzles team that is playing some great ball right now. I think with Russell Westbrook back and a game against the Blazers, it’s the perfect get-right spot. This Blazers team has star players but overall are a terrible team. I still think the public perceives this Blazers team as good and I will be on the Rockets at -8.5 on the point spread.
