Christian Wood, PF, Detroit Pistons

– Over 8.5 Rebounds (-121)

For our first pick on Wednesday, we’ll be attacking the over on a player prop for Christian Wood of the Detroit Pistons.

Wood has had a fun coming out party since the Pistons traded away Andre Drummond. It has been nice to see Wood finally freed and thriving in his role as the starting center for Detroit. On Wednesday, Wood gets a slow-paced matchup in a game with a total of 206, but when you look at the numbers, this is a pretty good spot for him.

Despite the slow tempo, Wood will see a nice boost in rebounds at about 8%, according to the RotoGrinders Defense vs. Matchup Tool. I also think that 8.5 rebounds is not where his line should be. Rather, 9.5 feels right. If you look at Wood’s three games without Drummond so far, Wood has more than 8.5 rebounds in two of the three games. In one of those games, he got in foul trouble and had his rotation cut.

I think Wood’s line is still too low and I will be taking the over on 8.5 rebounds and locking this bet in.

Washington Wizards ML (+128)

For the second bet on Wednesday, we’ll be taking the Washington Wizards on the moneyline, priced at +128. They take on the New York Knicks.

I like Washington in this spot against the terrible Knicks. I get that Washington isn’t the best team in the league, but the team is playing a lot better and starting to get healthier. They just beat up a bad Chicago Bulls team and I expect them to get right and take down the Knicks on Wednesday night.

Washington’s health is key and despite losing Jordan McCrae in a trade, the Wizards picked up Shabazz Napier and he has bolstered that second unit a bit. The Wizards are also somehow only a couple games out of the No. 8 seed in the Easter Conference, which means this team is not giving up and Beal has been vocal about them trying to make playoffs. I think Wizards try to try and get there and beat up some of these bad teams when they get the chance. The Knicks are a great opportunity and I love getting the Wizards at +128 here.

NBA Record: 65-64 (+0.80 units)
