Best NBA Betting Picks and Player Props for Tuesday, January 14

After an exciting few days of football action, we turn our focus to the NBA. There are six games scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2020, which gives us plenty to make betting picks from. Let’s take a look at the NBA bets we’re targeting for Tuesday hoops.

Spencer Dinwiddie, PG, Brooklyn Nets

– Under 20.5 Points (-121)

Spencer Dinwiddie has been a star for the Brooklyn Nets while Kyrie Irving has been out. It’s been a great ride for Dinwiddie, but with Irvin and Caris LeVert back, I expect his numbers to decline severely. Not only does this line feel inflated, but Dinwiddie must take on the Utah Jazz, who are one of the tougher defensive teams in the league.

This also grades out as a horrible matchup for Dinwiddie as evidenced by the RotoGrinders Defense vs. Matchup Tool showing that Dinwiddie will see a decrease in usage of 11.27% and 16% in shot attempts.

This line feels a couple points too high and I think we are getting great value at 20.5 points. I like the under for Tuesday and would even take it at 18.5 points.

Utah Jazz (-3.5)

The Utah Jazz have been rolling as of late, currently on a nine-game winning streak. The trade for Jordan Clarkson has been a big boost while Mike Conley has been out, and this team just feels tough to beat right now. Donovan Mitchell missed the other night but is expected to be back.

This line opened at Jazz (-1) and I thought it was too low and bet it last night. Now this line is at Jazz (-3.5) and I still think you can take this line up to Jazz (-5).

I don’t love betting on teams that have major changes, like the Brooklyn Nets have with LeVert and Irving returning. The Jazz are on the other end, where they have been rolling and figured out how to play with this new unit they have. Consistency can be key in the regular season and the Jazz seem to have hit that stride. I’ll be betting on this hot Jazz team and Jazz (-3.5) and taking them against a Nets team that I expect to struggle over the next week or so.

Jaren Jackson Jr., PF, Memphis Grizzlies

– Over 5.5 Rebounds (-121)

The Memphis Grizzles must take on the Houston Rockets and the Rockets will be without one of their star players, Russell Westbrook. This game has a closer point spread than normal and just like Vegas, I expect the Grizzles to compete in this game.

The bet here I like the most is the over on rebounds on 5.5 for Jaren Jackson Jr. He has more than 5.5 rebounds in five of his last seven games, and the one issue you must worry about with him is foul trouble. On top of that, we get a spot where he grades out as the best rebounding spot on the entire slate. According to the RotoGrinders Defense vs. Archetype Tool, Jackson gets a boost of 30% in rebounds versus the average.

This is the highest total on the board at 239 and I expect a lot of stats to be accumulated. That’s why I’m jumping on the over on 5.5 rebounds for Jaren Jackson Jr.

NBA Record: 51-48 (+2.60)
