2020 SuperContest Gold Standings Week 5: ‘BrettFavre 444’ Leads Tight Race

In the 2020 Las Vegas SuperContest Gold competition, there’s a tight race atop the leaderboard after Week 5. Leading the way is ‘BrettFavre 444,’ who has just a half-point lead thanks to a 17-7-1 record through five weeks. Behind him on the SuperContest Gold standings are five contestants tied at 17-8.

In Week 5, ‘BrettFavre 444’ went a perfect 5-0 to jump from a tie for ninth place into sole possession of first place. In Week 5, ‘BrettFavre 444’ selected the Carolina Panthers (+1.5), Las Vegas Raiders (+12.5), Houston Texans (-6), Pittsburgh Steelers (-7), and Cleveland Browns (+1.5). Each team covered the point spread and vaulted ‘BrettFavre 444’ into first place.

‘BrettFavre 444’ started well in the 2020 SuperContest Gold, opening with back-to-back 4-1 weeks in Week 1 and Week 2. What followed in Week 3 and Week 4 was 2-3 and 2-2-1 weeks, respectively, which caused ‘BrettFavre 444’ to slip back a few spots on the SuperContest Gold leaderboard. It all turned back around in Week 5, though, and now ‘BrettFavre 444’ sits alone at the top entering Week 6.

‘BrettFavre 444’ wasn’t the only contestant to go a perfect 5-0 in Week 5, but there wasn’t many others. Only two other contestants scored a perfect result this week, and both of them are also in the top 10 of the SuperContest Gold leaderboard. ‘AndrewScalzi2’ went 5-0 and moved into a five-way tie for second place, and ‘Iced Tea 2’ also went 5-0 to jump into a tie for seventh place.

Entering Week 5, it was ‘Frankies Force’ leading the field of 72 entries with a record of 14-5-1. ‘Frankies Force’ ended up going 2-3 in Week 5 and slipped back into a tie for seventh place. His picks in Week 5 were the Atlanta Falcons (-1.5), New York Jets (+7), Cincinnati Bengals (+12.5), Miami Dolphins (+8.5), and Minnesota Vikings (+7).

The 72 contestants in the 2020 SuperContest Gold are all playing for the winner-take-all $360,000 top prize. Last year, ‘Walter Payton’ topped the 128-entry field to win the 2019 SuperContest Gold’s $585,000 first-place prize.
